best soft synth
i was wondering what the best soft synth prog is...
ive heard reaktor and reason and i have reaktor but it doesnt have much for orchestra sounds...
im looking more for real instruments...
any suggestions?

If you are looking for "real instrument" sounds why do you want a "soft synth?" Sounds like you need a sampler.
Even if you want to play with the sound a little, most samplers will let you tweak the sound around. Find a sound font with nice instruments to start with like Unison.sf2

The best for what exactly?
If you have nothing. I would get a sampler plugin. The Exs24 (or Exs player) is excellent...!
Check out Absynth for something extremely different. Check out Spectrasonics's Atmosphere (and all their other synths actually).
There are loads to choose from although a sampler can be taken with you.. If you know what I mean...

fruity loops& mpd-16 & midi controller keyboard
i what to know is fruity loops a good program to make quality tracks with and is the mpd-16 and a midi controller keyboard good to work with the program

yeah Fruity loops is a pretty good app. Its certainly possible to produce professional - sounding music using Fruity, especially if u use pro - quality Vst instruments and effects. Most professionals use Logic Audio or Cubase tho (well, most actually use Digidesign Pro-Tools, but thats designed to work with expensive hardware so u need a v. big budget to get that:)

I understand that there would be alot of work to do what we want and that there isn't a click and poof way of removing voices. However the question was. I'm looking for a program that can take pre-recorded songs off an audio cd and and figure out the notes and show it in tabulature form. Does such a program exist? I understand that I would probably need some type of ripper to extract the songs first, so mainly what I'm looking for is a program that could then take one of those songs and transcribe the tab for me. Thanks!

No, unfortunately as yet there's really no commercially available software I'm aware of that can do this reliably. One interesting app. is Melodyne
This can analyse MONOPHONIC audio files (e.g. a guitar solo) and transcribe the results as standard notation (not tab, as far as I'm aware). Its an amazing program tho, you can do loads of stuff to the audio you put in it. You can learn more at

Wamirack 192x strange noise
Hello,
I'm from belgium, and I have a litle problem.
I hear strange noises in my speakers, I think it comes from my hard drives.
Can somebody help me?

I know what you mean. This is especialy a problem with lap tops and computers with on-mother board sound cards. The IDE and serial PS2 bus can gereraty noise in the auidable specttum dependat on the data going across the bus. When the sound card analog circuits are put on a board next to high speed digital processing the result is some of the digital data beeing heard on the sound card.
Get a better sound card with a nice low noise floor.

Playback & Recording the Same
My sound playback and sound recording are on the settings "Crystal WDM Audio" which I have been unable to change. What this has done has turned my audio speakers into microphones, I have a microphone I want to use but when I plug it in my speakers still pick up the sounds. Is there anything I can do to change this so my Micophone records and not my speakers?

Do you mean that you are recording what you are hearing from the speakers?
Your speakers are not being used as microphones. You just need to change your record input from "all" to "mic." This can be done by opening the windows mixer, selecting "recording" from the options->properties menu, and checking the microphone check box, and make sure every thing else is un-checked.

Couldn't find anything called "Windows Mixer", I assumed that "sounds and multimedia" were the equivalent and did as you said, it didn't work.

Weird... :o.
I don't know anything about 'Crystal WDM Audio' although it sounds like it might be an sound/audio card thang.
Speakers and dynamic microphones are essentially the same thing. Speakers can be used as microphones IF you plug the speaker into the mic input. The same said the other way around. If you 'suitably' plug a dynamic mic into the output of an audio amplifier, you can hear the music. You can also break the mic, quite easily.
Do you have the speakers and the mic plugged into the correct computer inputs and outputs. I'd be doubly sure before you go searching elsewhere for an answer to your problem.

They're in the correct spots, although my speakers still pick up the sound and not the mic, I still believe that the fact Crystal WDM audio is listed in both of my input/output options is the real problem, which I just can't seem to change. Thankyou for replying though.

Check out some WIndows forums specifically. I suspect it's either a current audio/sound card driver or a driver for an old card which is no longer in your computer. It all sounds very strange though.. :o.

Karaoke making software
I am interested in making karaoke discs in CD-G and VCD/DVD in my language. There are no CDs awailable in Punjabi. I want to make them and perhaps make a small business of it.

transporting data?
a freind of mine has q-base and t-racks mastering tools. he insists he has to put the data on disc
to workon it in t-racks instead of transporting the
file some how. there in lies the question at hand,
how?

I'm not sure3 what you are asking here.
If he using Cubase and T-racks on the SAME computer, there should be no reason to burn the files to disc.
(unless there is a severe shortage of disc space)
