You proobably need to install the appropriate drivers for your soundcard.

I have a G4 mac with OS9.2.2 on one hardrive & OSX on another. I am slowly getting into OSX..... BUT....I can't find a demo (like cubase,logic..even computer muzey which is free!!!) to try out

recording software for XP
I recently apoke with a friend of mine who informed me that I could record onto my computer my guitar as well as my singing with a program and some accessories. I was wondering what program he was talking about and what accessories I needed to do this?

<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track</a> is one of many multi-track programs that you can use. You will also need a microphone and a soundcard at the very minimum. Ask your friend for more info, too. And read through these forums.

scsi problem with kurzweil
hello every1
i have a kurzweil k2vx operating sysem is 3.54. recently i bought a scsi adapter AHA-2940UW i hooked it up to my pc and got a scsi harddrive to go with it too, my computer has xp and is recoqnizing the card and the harddrive but it doesnt show the drive letter in my computer, plus there is a message poping up asking for kurzweil device driver????? what should i do ?

Probably is the harddisk in your K2 is terminated, try fuzzing around with that.I've done so and got out oine or the other way (with the K2000r)

Hi guys!
I use Fruity Loops for a while and I'd like to find some (free if possible) real drums sounds to build my songs. Is there a website where I could find them (or even a new player ?). Sorry, I don't have Soulseek or Kazaa.

Advice for a novice

Sorry if this a repeat message but other email crashed.
I would just like some advice from all you experts as a total novice.
I have downloaded some MP3 tracks but I want to know what is the best method of mixing tracks e.g. software or external equipment.
It is only for my own entertainment.
Any guidance or tips would be appreciated.

It's probably best to use freeware software initially if you are just intending to entertain yourself and learn the ropes.

finale vs sabaillius(forgive spelling)
I've been on a quest to study music and as a singer it's important. I just learned to read music and am in a theory class. I have a piano and can play what I need to sing pretty well.Which is the best program if you just need to change keys? I doubt at this point if I'll need to do more than that.

I'm a profesional musicteacher and I can only speak for myself, but Sibelius is expensive but I find very easy to learn, much easier as Finale. In both programs you can scan your leadsheet and than transpose as much as you like.
GVOX Encore is not so good, in my opinion

Where can I purchase just the words for music.

It's far more easier to buy both the lyrics and the sheet music. There's a <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/sheetmusic/">sheet music store</a> on this site. Or you could just transcribe the lyrics yourself.

Thus far, the MPEG-4 audio standard is still slowly building strength, but I found an interesting article about it's audio compression algorithm... I may be wrong, but it sounds like they're finally integrating the principles of .MOD files, .MP3 files, vocoders, and VST plug-ins. Very nice. Although I've heard people say that ACC and WMA sound better, I suspect that MPEG-4 will spawn a nice new generation of audio codecs.

problem with fruity loops
I've got fruity loops on my P.C. and have succesfully made a song on it. But I need the song as a backing track to prform somewhere and therefore need to write it to CD. The problem is that it's a .flp file and i can't open it in windows media player. I doubt it will work on a cd player if i burn it onto a CD. Help! i only have about 3 weeks to get the track on CD. What the hell do I do????

We want to contact Reegz, who have contributed some songs to FL Studio Producer Edition. We are using Fruty Loops to make our music and we want to use some melodies in one of his songs. Our albums comes in the language Tamil (An South Asian language - Indian), . We will use his name as the composer of the song and it will be printed in the CD cover and booklet also. He will be the copyright owner for this track. So we hope, you'll support us (we are some comming up Guys).
We also hope to get some advise from you on vocoder on Fruty loops, which we have tried a lot - NOT succeded.
And we are interested in using your other melodies also, winth your name and permission, So please reply.

no problem... :)
export your work using the option export in the file menu. Once opened the sub menu, you can choose wich kind of format you will export your file, (exmp. mp3, wave.. etc)
Once do that, choose the directory where to save and clik to confirm the rendering audio.
that's all.
If you saved your song as mp3 on your desktop, open it
with mediaplayer or make a compilation with nero burning or other programs. Forgive my english, and have good job. See you.

Oops my mistake...I meant you could also save it as an MP3.

For some reason when I use fruity loops and I try to use some of the samles they dont work. For instance when I open up the hip hop file the bass works and maybe a hi hat or two but nothing else works could someone please give me a hand.

What you need to do is simply save the song as a wav when you save it...Go into Fruity Loops and open up the beat..then go to Save As...It should have a drop down menu where you can choose what to save it as..You can also save it as a wav..Anyway, It should bring up some kind of options menu when you do that where you can choose "high quality", or change the bitrate of the mp3...and make sure you have the loop button pressed when you save it or it will not save the whole beat, it will only save one pattern....Just go to save as...find the drop down menu and click the down arrow to bring the menu down...click mp3...and you got it.

You need to click on the "export" button in the main drop down menu then you go from there.

You can save it as ".wav" or ".mp3" by clicking "save as..." or alternatively clicking on the bottom right box (with the picture of a file on it) in the top right of the fruity loops program.
