Try downloading some q80 specific files from somewhere. Try Synthzone. Chuck them on the disk and then see if the machine can read them. If not, then it's poor at reading even MSDos disks.. Does it have SCSI?

A DI box is basically a transformer. They are good for a few things namely..

1. Electrically isolating the performer from electrical hazards.
2. As an impedance balancing device.

Number 2 comes in handy when you are trying to plug an electric guitar or bass guitar into a line level device like a PC audio/sound card or mixing desk.

If your amp has a line out then you will notice little different wiring it up as described. It might however please as well as isolating your amp from your PC electrically.
