This can be done. I'd start using a free program like <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&words=audacity">Audacity</a>.

: Is it possible to edit a cassette recording from the recorder to computer using pro-tools? After the editting the editted work will than have to be recorded back on to cassette and or cd's. The recordings are of talk or game highlights to be used for making demo tapes and cd's. Which software or program would be the best to use?

I am trying to export a fl 4 to a wave file. I am unable to do so. The rendering page closes by it self. I do see a wave file exported but it sounds blank.

Geoff has been away for a couple of days so I'll answer
your question.

Basically there is no software that can successfully
remove the bass and leave the rest of the music intact,
or to extract the bass on it's own.

To eliminate the bass using Cool Edit get yourself a
good <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&words=Parametric+EQ+Plug-in">Parametric EQ Plug-in</a> and play around with
removing bass frequencies and see if you get something
you like.

You can use a freebie called Audacity. It's a very good program.
But, the quality of your digital audio interface will determine the sound quality of the recording.

You can also, use a sequencer with a built-in instrument....there are some of these programs that allow you to play notes via a midi keyboard into the Mac and it will record those notes with the Mac's built in sound. There are a few decent piano sounds there too. This could offer you a better sound quality than doing it the other way.

I have to think of the names of the programs, but email me and I'll figure it out.

i'm running a magix music maker 2005deLuxe on an hp w/windows xp:home. does anyone know the compatibility ratio between hp/xp and magix? (Music Maker 2005 deLuxe)
it runs fine until the burn.
1st MusicMatchJukeboxBurnerPlus (die, die, die!) defaulted in as the dominant monster and crashed my puter. Next, after the destructive recovery, i had to learn the hard way. i allowed mmjb to take over again. never again. after recovery #2, i discovered that my e-drive has died. coincidence? perhaps. XP? perhaps. three months out of warranty? most likely. MMM'05dLx? not likely, but i may be the "one percent".

Archiving vinyl to an eMac

I have an Audioline amp and a turntable. I am using an eMac 700 running OS 10.3.5. I need to know how to connect the two together so I can archive my vinyl.I use the aux on the amp for my playstation 2 and there are two tape ports, one cd and one phono. The two tape ports are not used. I have the right cabaling for the job and I have tried both the mic port and the headphone port on the Mac.
For software i have iTunes, Peak 4 and Jam but for some reason I can not get this to work. Oh yeah i also bought iMic which I thought would solve my problem but alas no. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction as my wife is yelling at me to get rid of some of the vinyl and there is a hell fo alot of it.

Your amp should have at least one tape loop, labelled TAPE IN and TAPE OUT. The best way is to use the TAPE OUT, as if you were recording onto tape.

Thanks Lister, i tried that but still no joy. on the amp the dial is on phono for input and the out put is on tape 1, as I said no joy. i had set input and output to the same setting, didn't work. Nothing seems to work. Getting desperate here.

DOS converter MP3 to WAV???
