Which one? Cakewalk, Cubase, Samplitude?

I'm getting a new computer to do some audio recording on. I want to use a program that handles MIDI and hard disk recording well. I'm leaning more towards a comprehensive hard disk editor though since I don't have any outboard sound modules yet.

SEK'D makes Samplitude 2496 that is 24-bit, 96KHz ready. This might be usedful for mastering CDs as well, rather than buying a program like Sonic Foundry 4.5. Also, what different formats can you save in with these programs? Obviously WAV, but what else?

What are some good places to buy this stuff on the web? Looking for a CD burner as well.

A mixing software?????

I recently got into mixing. All I have been doing is playing with
Mixman Studio. But I can't edit songs (change tempo or eliminate/add sounds).
Can anyone tell me any software that I can do these things? And also tell me
about what Cubase is?? (Midi or wav editor?) Thank you.

Weird Audio problems with Logic & Flash

Here's some weird shit! When I run Logic Platinum on my P2
333 (win 98)I get a pulsing/clicking sound on the audio (no it aint the
click track) I have checked everything I can think of
but it wont go. When I run Cubase VST I have no such problems.
Neither does Sound Forge. Funny thing is that that it also starts up
with the clicking when I receive a Flash web file with sounds/??
The only thing I can think of that might be causing it
is that my soundcard is a Turtle Beach TSB2000 Topas and
they (wankers) don't have any up to date drivers for it.
Anyone got a fix? (other than throw away the TBS2000)

HELP Need audio Converter (aiff to wav)

I've recorded a bunch of great sounding songs on my macintosh. They're in aiff format. I have the oppurtunity to write them to cd @ work. the problem is that i use a windows platform here and the CD writer only reads WAV. Does anyone have a converter?

Copy the aiff files to an ibm (not mac even though macs are better) then download and use cool edit 2000. You can open and save as. wav

Before: fastcar.mid
After: Fast_Car.MP3

It won't play on my player!!! Help (I need a download site too!!) THANKX For Helping a little confused Girl!!

First you must convert the midi to a .wav file by recording the midi player output with your sound card. Then you can convert the .wav file to .mp3 with any of the freeware or shareware applications available on the web. Many can be found at www.mp3.com

i prefeer Adaptecs Easy Cd Creator another one you

You have to choose to create an Audio CD in your
CDR-software.
Then drag and drop your wav or aiff files on the CD-R aplication.

with this way, I can't include instruction as finger position and so on.
Do someone Know if there is some songs ready to be downloaded and/or a tool to create some songs from notation (standard sheet of paper)

We are using Midisoft recording session to enter the song that you want. Once you have the songs in recording session you can import to Play Piano.

Try Winamps latest player it has that function built in from start (no plugins)

On a machintosh Re-wire is an extension that automaticly sync rebirth 2.0
to VST 4.0. (it also gives you a lot of other options)
I dont know if it works with earlyer versions of
Cubase VST.

You surely can if you have a properly version. 3.0 or higher (Audio or so...) would work just fine if you just switch few channels to audio mode.
