I wanna know how to convert wave-files into mp3-files! i got a program for converting mp3-files into wave-files, but i really would be grateful for a program that works the other way round!!! Who can help me???

Can't close cakewalk, please help

hi, i've got a bit of a problem with cakewalk in that when i close it, it dissappears as if it has closed and then my system freezes, so i press Ctrl/Alt/Del and then select end task in the close program menu. i've tried re-installing cakewalk (i use v7 by the way) and have even re-installed windows 98. has anyone els had this problem, if so please would u post a reply or e-mail me. any help would be well appreciated. thanks for reading this and thanks for any help in advance.

What is the best solution for analizing the vocals and correcting the flatening out of notes & etc.? What program is best suited for this? Or piece of equipment. Thank you for your time. Need fade capability - Mac

Trying to sample :30 sec. segements from my wife's CD
to insert into a Web Page. I want to record straight
from the CD onto my Mac, fading into the samples at the
beginning and fading out at the end. Which Mac-compatible
programs (Freeware or Shareware) will enable me to do
that?

If at all possible, please e-mail your suggestions.

Which Sound Card For New System?

I currently have a Sound Blaster AWE 32 with 2mb of memory. I'm in the process of building a new PC and I am curious what sound card would be the best to get for my new system or if I should stay with what I have. I am going to be using the new PC for all of my music composition, but I also want to use it as my gaming machine. So, I need a card that will handle both. I use software such as Cakewalk 8, Reality, Logic Audio, Sound Forge, as well as others, in case this makes any difference.

If you plan on using your pc for real music production.
Then here is what you do as far as sound card.
I am telling you this to keep you from spending
money that you do not need to spend.

1. Keep your Awe32.
2. purchase a Darla or Gina card by Event

I also run the same software, plus some.

CUBASE - HELP

I'm trying to get into sequencing/making dance music with Cubase VST.

The main problems I'm having are actually keeping my samples in sync with one another in the Cubase VST arrangement section. The samples all start out ok but after a couple of seconds they go out of sync.

I've heard this is something to do with Time Stretching but I'm not sure.

If you can help then I'd be dead grateful!

p.s- the other thing I'm having difficulty with is the Pitch Shift/Time Correction section - even after matching all the tempos of all the samples, they still sound out of sync. HELP!!!!

software to transpose

Looking for an affordable program that can take sheet music read from a scanner and transpose to another key.

My 12 year old son plays a b-flat clarinet and wants to play along w/ the church band but their music is written in another key. I'd like to help out by transposing the music but don't read music myself so need brainy software to help me out. Help!

Loosing audio at the Master in VST24

I keep loosing audio at the master section of my mixer in Cubase VST 24 4.0.2 The audio still comes out my other bus on my Midiman DMAN 2044. It drops after about a minute or two. Anyone know a possible cause.

Do you know about these points:

The DMAN 2044 is in no way a 20 bit card....it converts at 20 bit but it then truncate to 16 bit to give a final result of 16 bit...
The problem is that it was and is still sold as a 20 bit card....simply fraudulous!!!!!!!!!

Also...the onboard DSP as never been implemented but again it was and is still sold as a card with onboard DSP...simply fraudulous!!!!!

These two point are written on the original box and nothing let us know that there are no DSP and no 20 bit....

You are, I think a music lover and a engaged musician and that should have some importance to your eyes.....we (musicians) are not especially rich and we spend the most of our money in gear...personnally, I spent hundreds of dollars in that card...only to realize after more than a year that I've been fooled by the "wolrd's largest midi company in the world"...
what a pleasant thought.

I will never buy a MIDIMAN product again and I will make everything possible to give them troubles and bad reputation....you should check the card and make yourself an idea....its all true...

and i think that Sound Limit can convert reversed to but
i'm not sure since i use to convert from mp3 to wave
with Winamp :o)
