Why won`t Audiograbber recognize my cd`s...It asks for `refresh`,but nothing happens...Any hints?

Edit your cdplayer.ini and delete all in
section [CDDB}. This should solve your problem.

REMOVING ECHO---HELP!

Hi Everyone,

I am a ROOKIE (and I mean ROOKIE) in sound editing. I am trying to remove echo and hiss from some old lecture tapes I have. I have heard that Dart Pro 32 will remove the hiss.

Will Dart Pro 32 also remove the echoing? Or do I need something else? If so, where do I get it?

As far as I know there is no such program nor will there be such a program for a while, because filtering out specific sounds like echoes or voices is a thing the human brain can do, and computers can't (yet)...:(

rebirth + tracker?

Is there a way to get Rebirth to run
in sync with a tracker program such as
modplug tracker?

I like Rebirth but would like to use more samples with it and don't have the cpu power needed for Cubase VST.

Use Renovator to load your own samples into rebirth in place of ther origanal drum kit
or save the rebirth loops as wavs and load on the tracker ( fast trakker 2 is better ) email me for more!!!

Re: dos mp3 player for 486

Use Mp3 Jukebox

Re: dos mp3 player for 486

Dear friend

I have a 486 too and the only player that I found that works nice is DOSAMP. I forget where you can get it but you can search for it using any search engine. It is a command line program. Run it in Dos (get completely out of windows) and type
"-downmix -downsample" (without quotes) after you type dosamp and the mp3 song you want to play.
eg. "Dosamp freedom.mp3 -downmix -downsample"
If your computer is fast enough you can omit
-downsample

There is also apparently an

(a full graphical web browser for DOS)

Hi there.
I dont know if any
of the original posters
still use dos. But,
I too am using
a 486 running dos.
Has anyone tried mpxplay?
Besides the fact it crashes sometimes
on my computer, it
is pretty reliable.
If anyone knows of a
good, reliable
dos mp3 player,
either post here
or send me
a private email at
blake@sasquatch.com

if anyone has a good
mp3 player, feel
free to email it
as attachment.
Thanks!
Blake

Re: dos mp3 player for 486

Is it even possible to play MP3's on a 486? I tried it on my 75MHz, and they didnt work, through dos.

Hardware Opinions,.. Please

I'm about to purchace a new PC and would like to get a few opinions on hardware preferences.
I will be running Cubase VST. on a 400mhz Pentium w/ 128 meg of Ram. all SCSI

Sound Card ????? Model,.....why
CDR ???? Model,.....why
Hard Drive ????? Model & Size,....why

Thanks in advance,
B.Pic

Re: Hardware Opinions,.. Please

That depends aa lot on what you will be doing with
Cubase, and what kind of cash you've got to burn.
If you are doing a lot of digital audio work, you
may want to get a Yamaha DSP Factory sound card.
If you aren't really into DSP usage, or you've got
lots and lots of DirectX plugins, you can probably
live with an SB Live! soundcard...SoundFonts abound
and the quality is superb (also comes with digital
I/O)...or a Turtle Beach Pinnacle...

Hard drive...hmmm...are you doing lots of digital
audio sequencing with Cubase? Regardless, you'll
want at least a 6GB drive, Western Digital or
Quantum. You get good speed for price (this is
from IDE experience, however). If you do lots
with digital audio, you might want to consider
an 8 or 10GB drive (all this space seems like a lot,
but you'll appreciate the breathing room)...

CD-R's I'm not too sure on. If it's mainly for
audio, any SCSI CDR drive will do you good.
4x write and 12x read are not too expensive, so
you may want to go with that...

Hope this helps a little...

waveset

I'd like to make MIDI songs with my own drum samples.
Exist some way how to creat wave set for SBPCI 128
and aplicate here my samples? I don't like wav editing and mods.
If isn't possible to make waveset, exist some other
way how to use my samples in MIDI song? (except Cakewalk)
I ordinary want use my samples as MIDI.

Thanks

n-track studio

Hi all:
I recently purchased N-track studio. I'm thinking of upgrading my sound card setup to accomodate. I do a lot of acoustic stuff, with vocals.

Can anybody recommend a sound card? I've heard good things about turtle beach, but they're a bit expensive. Has anybody tried the two soundcard setup with win95(osr2)? I currently have an ess 1869. Also, can somebody explain to me what the DC Bias adjustment is for, exactly?

Thanks in advance.
