Accessing Roland Sound set in quicktime4

What software will enable a user to access the roland sound canvas voices included for free with quicktime4 with a MIDI controller? Their player now looks like a module out of Performer and the sound quality has doubled.

Creative Music CMF to standard MIDI

CMF2MID is great and easy to use, but if you want
to convert 100 CMFs...
Soundcard differences described by Adam Mirowski
(CMF2MID author) are not so important for WaveTable,
and general conversion scheme can be created. This
assumes that all you need to run batch converting is
CMF2MID + simple software that can read data from
conversion table to create CMM files automatically
(one need few minutes to write it) + conversion table
itself. However, the last should have thousands of
items (how many instruments do they use in CMF?).
So, if you can send me your CMM files - send them!
Please note: I don't need tons of CMFs - all I ask is
text CMMs (if you don't know what it is - don't send
anything).
Thanks.

Ask

Does anyone know that is it possible to remove vocal
from wave or mp3 file. Is there any PC program which can do it
Thanks for any info

Re: Ask

Witaj!
Jest taka mozliwosc ale niestety nie sprawdza sie ona zawsze. Musisz miec jakis dobry edytor wavu. Ja polecam sherewearowy Cool 96. Latwy do sciagniecia z internetu.

Software sequencer/sampler.

Hi! I'm looking for a good program to use for mixing
tracks. I need something that will fade samples in and out. I need it to let me place tracks in the middle of a song etc. What would you suggest for me to use?

Hi

If you can afford it and your computer can cope then go for something like Logic Audio, it will do all that you want plus more besides. If you look in the software section of this site you may find a shareware version....

help!

Hey. Is there anyone out there that would mind giving me some help with Cuvase? I just started using it, and I can only playback the first to tracks that I record. ??? I found some info on my configuration settings for win 95 for Cu vase 3.0, does that pertain to version 3.6 as well? Also...was Cuvase designed primarily for working with MIDI? I am only doing audio recording, do you think another programwould have been better for me?

notation to word processor

I am interested in finding a notation software that would allow me to export musical examples into a word processor. I am in the process of writing music trext but have not been able to do this. My word processor is Word and I use Encore for notation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Al,

basically, you can use every notation program by doing a screenshot and importing it
into your word processor - but that's only the low-quality way. I got nice results with
Finale (www.codamusic.com) and Capella (www.whc.de). Both are able to export your results
in graphic formats (TIF in Finale, WMF in Capella). In either case, you have to do some
experimenting concerning resolution and size to have your graphics fit nicely into the rest
of your document.

Greetings,

Harald

Re: notation to word processor

You can also use Sibelius, which is able to save scores in vector format EMF so as to minimize the file size, an which may be imported into Word 97

Hiloha,

I have many music files scored on an editor with a graphic file
type (M@Passport) unsupported by Windows. I'm told by our
friends at Cubase that I can "export my M@P tune files at
Windows .bmp and then import the .bmp into MS Word or
Adobe Pagemaker. Is the term "screen-shot" the same as
"exporting as .bmp file type?" Exactly how do you execute the
screen-shot?

Thank you for your responses on the dubious topic of score
editors. "Caveat Emptor," because high price does not always
guarantee high level software.

HELP, I'M BLEEDING!!! (sonically speaking...)

I hope someone out there can help me. When I record (for example) a guitar track over (for example) drums and bass, the drums and bass bleed onto the guitar track. Therefore any editing/effects results in a complete mess! If anyone can tell me why my input isn't being recorded all on it's own I'd sure as hell appreciate it!! (so too would my PC, which I am about to kick the shit out of!!!!) Thankyou kindly.

Re: cda to wav converter

Could you tell me where you found that cda to wav converter because i want to copy songs from a cd i have as well as mp3 files onto a cd and my software won't allow cda to burn. Thanks

Re: wav to cda converter

Hi! Willem
I saw Davi's answer.
I agree with him, however, there are more softwares
that makes the convertion wave to cda, like
NERO 3070(there is shareware in the WEB) and
CDWIZARD PRO.
I like to use NERO, because is very good.

Re: wav to cda converter

I assume that as you want to convert *.wav files to CDA that you have a CD writer or CD re writer. I use Adaptic Easy Cd creator, which came with my CD writer. This will automatically write *.wav files as CDA tracks on the cd.

I imagine most CD writer software shipped with CD writers will do the same thing.

I hope this helps, please email me if you have any further questions.....

bye bye

I'm sure most of you know that I can't get WAV files or RAM files to play on my car CD player. I'm looking for any program that will convert WAV or RAM files to CDA so that I can listen while I drive. There must be a dozen of them on this website; could any of you recommend a couple that are reliable and easy to use????? Thanks, Steve K

audiodrop-outs incubase

When I`m mixing down in cubase 3.55, I discovered some big
drop-outs. Maybe becouse I changed graphic-card, wich is
woodoo2 mighty banshee AGP from innoVISION.
Could that be a problem, and how to solve it?
I tryed with decreeseng color-depth to 256, free ram and other stuff, thatswhy I belive this is a graphic-card problem, something with bus-locking.

lick recorder

I'm looking for a recording program to be able to play licks at a slower speed to be able to learn them.
thank you!

I canonly record 2 tracks on one piece.

I am just getting into computer recording, I just got cubase the other day and have started experimenting with it. How come I can only record 2 tracks? I have a pentium, and 64 megs of RAM. I thought I'd be able to record at least 7 tracks. It seems as if the third track is being recorded, but it won't play back. I don't know....maybe someone knows something that can help my sorry ass.

Encore manual

Can I get a copy of a manual or how-to for the Encore music notation program?

midi & wave multi-track player

Hello everyone!

does anyone know a software which allow me to play a midi file and a wave file at the same time, on 2 different devices? It will be great if the soft can also display the audio signal while playing.

Thanks for you help!

Re: midi & wave multi-track player

get Steinberg's Cubase Audio or Emagic's Logic
Audio. both are able to play midi and audio
simultaneously. I think Logic is the better
choice according to audio-support.

greets,
snifFA

Re: midi & wave multi-track player

If you want a cheaper program than
Cubase or LogicAudio try
Digital Orchestrator Pro
at Voyetra ($199).
You can download a full working demo
there.
(Demo is timelimited and you can't save)

MP3 IN 68k MAC???

I have a Macintosh performa 630...Can I run MP3 songs??
Please help
P.S. sorry for my english, it isn't very good

MacAMP definitely will NOT run your your 630
I've heard of rumors that there does exist some application that will, but I think these are only rumors since 68k machines are not fast enough to process the compression of mpeg layer III files.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I don't know of anyone who has tried this but you might be able to find an application which will convert MP3 to AIFF format like Mpecker drop decoder or SoundAPP. But i think Mpecker is a power pc only application, and likewise (but i'm not certain) soundapp(FAT or PPC) will only read mp3 files.
