I recommend Nero copying software, it came with my friends cd writer and does the job.

Tips of recording (1)

So, much people here discuss computer multi-track recorder
here(CakeWalk, Cubase....), but few of them really want to
discuss recording technique. So I would like to share some of
my experience here.

In my opinion,I consider multitrack recorder is consist of two
parts : mixer & recorder, those computer multitrack recorder means the same,
since it does not greatly affect your sound quality,so I will not
emphasis geratly on this, just choose a user-friendly(may
be you can say beautiful) with much audio-effect support(support
direct-X) Here I will suggest CakeWalk.

So what is the difference between HAREWARE multitrack recorder & COMPUTER
multitrack recorder? i consider this there's no difference except one : HAREWARE multitracker
is easier to use but if u want to editing your sound, it's a fucking process.
snice, HAREWARE type recorder have no. of fader and many input
(common 8 input & 8 fader). You can use it easily because
everything is very clear located. So for those computer
recorder, firstly u should consider if your sound card
support real-time playing & recording simutaneously,
how many input? (a 8*2 input sound card can cost u $1500 or upper, just
like those hareware recorder) After install to ypur computer,
you should set many, many parameter by yourself.(Perhaps
it's a feature of using computer!!) Sometimes it is really
a shit. One thing is very important, you can control no.
of faders in hareware recorder SIMUTANEOUSLY. But for Computer
recorder, you CAN'T, just use your mouse.
But for editing purpose, since the monitor of the computer
is much larger than those in Hareware recorder, it's easier
to edit things in Computer.

SO before u start recording something, think twice,
which gear is suitable for u.

Yeah, last day , i went to a music store that sold PRO
RECORDING EQUIPMENT. At there, there are some CD Burner(Fostex,
Sony...) which cost $4000 or much higher. I asked those shopkeeper
to tell me the difference between those Burner and those computer CD
Burner. He told me those Burner sold at their shop are PRO!
So , could anyone tell me what factor will effect the quality of the CD burner &
which CD Burner is worth to buy? My studio is gonna to open, so I need a PRO
CD BURNER to make demo CD for publishing.

Re: choice of cd burner

It doesn't matter what brand.
It matters what speed.
You need one at least a four(4) speed burner,
but I would suggest an eight(8) speed for
what you are doing.

RE: cd burners: Which burner/duplicator will burn cd's that will play on 99% of the cd players out there? Is there a standard to look for?
I want to make dupes in quantities of 20, 50, 100.

I purchased a Yamaha Consumer oriented burner/copier that uses "music only cd's"...
these copies will not play in all cd players.

Also, I've heard that the blamks you use are important. Which is the best choice?

Please help me. I'm spinning my wheels. No-one seems to know the answer.

Thanks - Terry

cdg software

i need software to burn a cdg (karaoke) cd. my burner only burns the audio tracks not the graphic tracks. can anyone tell me where to get software to do this thank you

Re: cdg software

You need a burner that supports CD+G such as HP8100 or HP8200 or possibly a Plextor.
The software to use would include CDRwin. I know this software works, but your burner must support CD+G.

cda-wav-mp3 and back

can you go from .wav to .cda before you put the song on the cd or do you have to change it as it goes on the cd?

any1 know of a program, that works, to grab from a cd and have it end up directly in .mp3 format and/or a program to go from .mp3 to .wav?

i don't have the writable drive to make an audio CD, so I have to bring my songs to the guys house on floppies, what is the format that uses the least amount of space and are there any programs better than DriveSpace to compress a floppy(to fit say 5megs on a 1.4meg)?

Re: cda-wav-mp3 and back

try blaze media pro go here

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/blaze_media_pro.cfm#download

havn't dl'ed it yet, but from what I get from it...it'll convert wav to cda without burning

Re: cda-wav-mp3 and back

The latest version of Audiograbber offers a
downloadable dll file that will take a cda file
a cd and convert it directly to a mp3.

Have you seen any thing that will convert a
wav file to a cda file?

Re: cda-wav-mp3 and back

: Have you seen any thing that will convert a

I am having the same problem; I cannot figure a way to get an MP3 or WAV file back into CD audio...
If you use ADAPTEC you can get the MP3 format, and if you use NERO burning ROM you can get strqaight from the CD to MP3; but I can;t get it back again...
I have been told however that Adobe Premiere can easily convert all sound formats to CDA but using another file format

Re: cda-wav-mp3 and back

Don't know if this works yet, however, downloading a program now, that says it will do everything your asking.

Printing music with HP Deskjet 520

I have tried to print music using my Hewlette Packard Deskjet 520 and every time it prints a note it blanks the staff so that it gets unreadable. Any solution anyone? Do I have to buy a laser printer for my home also?

Re: Printing music with HP Deskjet 520

: I have tried to print music using my Hewlette Packard Deskjet 520 and every time it prints a note it blanks the staff so that it gets unreadable. Any solution anyone? Do I have to buy a laser printer for my home also?

I'm pretty sure the printer can cope esily with graphics. The problem is that the music is being sent over to the printer as a series of fonts and the printer cannot print one font over another (ie, a note font will take the place of the staveline font instead of lying nicely on top of it IYSWIM)

Is there no way that the music can be saved out as a graphic first (GIF/JPEG/TIFF) before sending to print? there's a number of ways you can do this in Windows to copy and paste an entire screen to a graphics package (basically a screen dump) and print from that.

It's not pretty but it might work and it's a lot cheaper/easier than forking out for a laser printer that won't make any difference! :o)

mp3 to cda files that are compatable in a hi-fi how?

HI
Can anybody help me ?
what i want to do is convert mp3 files to cda files so that i can record the mp3s and be able to play them in my car cd player.
ive got adaptec easy cd creater
anyone with any information would be great!

Re: mp3 to cda files that are compatable in a hi-fi how?

OK then..........

Step one:

Covert the mp3 from *.mp3 to *.wav 16 bit 44,100 HZ Stereo. To do this you will need convertor program. There are pleant available from within the Music Machine web pages. There are shareware as well generally, your will find them dotted all around the internet, just do a search for "mp3 decoder" or variation.

Ster 2:

Load up adeptec easy CD creator, find the wave file you have just created from mp3, add it to the track list of the Audio CD ( NOT the Data CD ), once you are happy with the CD, click create CD and that is it..... :)

I hope that helps.....if you get stuck of need any futher help please contact me via information below........

Good luck....... :)

Bye bye

Spin those hips

anyone know where to find a "good"
drum machine -synth thing?
something that sound and behaves like a real home-style drum machine---
me and the girls will really appreciate it

thanks

Re: Spin those hips

Hello there,

You should check out <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/HammerHead_Rhythm_Station/">Hammerhead</a>. Not only is it freeware, but it's a great program for anyone just getting started with sequencing drums and/or samples. There's also a decent look at what Hammerhead can do <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/9906_119/">here</a>.

Cheers

Reality 1.5

Hi. I´ve gotten me a cd-rom which, among others, has Reality 1.5 on it. However when I try to install it, it says "Install this program from its original cd". Anyone knows how to get around this very irritating thing?

Does anyone have the surround sound plug for eool edit pro/sound

I really have been looking for it...
thanks!
John II

Yes Re: Does anyone have the surround sound plug for eool edit p

I down loaded the surround sound module off of
www.syntrillium.com (they are the creators of
cool edit pro) a few months ago. Check there.
If it's not there any more, e-mail me. I think I
might still have the downloaded install.
