Re: CD-to-CDR

: Try WIN-ON-CD.
: It's a cick ass software and easy to use.

:
: : I am using Adaptec to burn CDR's, but for "direct" CD-to-CD writing, i can only use 1x speed... (rather than the 4x write speed, which my CD-R is capable, e.g. for harddrive-to-CD writing).

: : Does anyone know a CDR program that copies CD-to-CD directly, reliably (no buffer underrun) and fast (at 4x write), with an option for choosing tracks??

: : [i have a PII 333MHz 64Mb computer].

Looking for a good software audio mixer

I am searching for a decent audio mixer program with loop, and fade features that can make a 3 minute track. I like programs that are simple to learn. I have been using Making Waves. Any suggestions would be cool! Please e-mail me instead of posting a reply, as I don't check this board often.

I lost my cd and I get a missing file message when I try to play a song

16 bit 24 bit 32 bit?

If I want the best recordings I can get and the final
product is going to be a cd. The cd is going to be
16 bit. Is this right? If so then should I bother
trying to record @ 24, 32 or 64bit?

Re: 16 bit 24 bit 32 bit?

I just stumbled across this question, as I was
trying to find out the difference between 24 bit
display (8 bits for red, green and blue) and 32 bit display.
I'm a bit confused, as 3 doesn't go into 32 (for RGB).

Anyway, in response to your question.
I suppose it's a little late now, but as I
understand it:
The bitrate (bits per sample) for audio determines
the dynamic resolution (the 'gap' between amplitude levels).
You probably already knew this.
The advantage of sampling at 32 bit or higher for 16 bit recording is that
you can set the dynamic range to 1/2 once you've finished recording, without losing
16 bit quality.
For example, if you're recording quite a soft piece of music,
you might find that half the dynamic range wasn't used, and so
you could set the dynamic range lower without re-recording.

Of course, steve smith is right when he says you should record at
a high frequency rate. This is much more important for 'quality'
than dynamic resolution.

you must record at 44kz to get cd stereo quality.
just record your files in the wav format and
i think the cdr software will take care of the
rest.

Hi,
2 aspects should be noticed.

1) u should configurate your sound card.
u need to manually select record from line-in
or mic-in in most sound card.
2) Configurate your cakewalk 8.
IN the tool bar, there's an option called
audio hardware. Follow the instruction that
it give.(SEE HELP)

Yup.

Re: Recording electric guitar usig cakewalk!??

If you were able to record thru Windows Sound recorder, I doubt there is any problem with config of your soundcard. Read thru the help section on Recording Digital Audio and you shall find a solution.
Try this:
1. Select a track that you want to record to. In track source select your sound card.
2. Arm the track that you are recording to.
3. Click on record.
To listen ur recording, make sure that the track port output is set to the soundcard again.
