Event Electronics Gina

I recently purchased the Gina card and interface but now I am unsure how to get midi into my computer. My midi adapter fit into my old soundcard but it doesn't fit into the Gina card. Should I attempt to use both cards, or is there a better way? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Event Electronics Gina

Get rid of your midi adapter to your old soundcard
and purchase an external midi interface.(opcode)
Connect it to your Com port and you will get a
stable system running without any problems.

mail2 hm@mysoft.no if problems occur.

Mixman Studio Pro Vs Cakewalk Groovemaker Max

I've been in this electronic music stuff for about half a year. And I bought several softwares just to see how to start. Recently own both of the software above, just to tell you guys what i think. Mixman is great, its music experience happens in real time, it's more hands-on, which is realistic and provides more excitement. Also cool about it is that the interface is really easy, and sequencer is adequte, which lets you move in 1/128 note, the new FX studio is really a great help too. Alrite, now the down side, no individual volume control for each track, and to be honest they really could stuff up the cd with more and better samples....i mean seriously, okay, i'll say half of them are cheesy and not all the styles fit good, and the additional sample cds cost 50 bucks each. I bought the GrooveMaker two days ago, and guess what, i still can't figure out how to export my mix...
Ain't that weird, okay, the look is alien like, with all the cool shapes and stuff, but the interface is so not intuitive that it confuses me still. But at the other side, it has some extremely powerful engine to pump out some mix automatically that doesn't sound like any mix you'll expect from a computer itself, i mean, it's crazy...but well, for the people who wants to get to the next level, this toy is only for no-experience people. but the samples are really good, the max version has over 1500 of them in 20 songs, it's dope. also the real time control is smooth. anyway, in conclusion, there's still no conclusion, i'll say mixman is a better experience, but groovemaker is the one and only virtual DJ that's really got some style. maybe i'll get a rebirth or something...cuz both of these are still toys.

Re: Mixman Studio Pro Vs Cakewalk Groovemaker Max

Groovemaker is puke, don't waste your money, you'll get laughed at!

How Do I convert wav files into Cd tracks?

No one has been able to help me with this.Does anyone
know if it is possible to make a multi-session
full-length audio disk? All the audio programs I've
used save these tracks as .wav files. When I try to
record a 70 min cd it won't let me because the .wav
files are manipulated as data. This means the disk can
only fit 650 MB of .wav files and not the full 74 min
of audio. Even if the .wav files were ripped from an
audio cd. Any help would be greatly appreciated and
would be a giant leap forward for mankind.

Re: How Do I convert wav files into Cd tracks?

well, look into Sonic Foundary CD-Architect, or stuff like Easy CD Creator, to what I know, those would record multi-session audio. But not the conventional music software.

Re: How Do I convert wav files into Cd tracks?

It's fairly easy to convert wav files into cd tracks if you have a cd recorder or writer....the cd writer comes with it's own software for your pc and does the work for you. All you have to do is have the wav files set and go to easy cd audio, and create the new disc. If you need more nfo, just e-mail me....

After I read this post I found out that most CD players do not recognize CD-RW's so if you are stil having problems like I was and very dissapointed I was, burn it on a CD-R and it should work. You would still need to follow the above post.

Wierd MP3 problem

Hi
Bit of a problem I'm hoping somebody can answer.
When I'm MP3ing a CD the first track always comes out with a loud "click" right at the start - none of the other tracks do this.
Obviously its a bit of a pain having to edit the .wav file first before converting. Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Any fixes? I'm using Audiograbber

Thanks in advance

that click is the Data-header from your soundfile.
But how you can fix this, that i don't know. (use a mac and those problems are history).

Need DOM-30 to convert Yamaha files to MIDI

Is there anywhere I could download a shareware version of DOM-30 software by Giebler Enterprises so that I can convert a few Yamaha sequences to Standard MIDI files? Thanks for any help you can give.

Not a follow up, rather more info

Hi,

I have a friend whose dad some years ago had some years ago a device that was called DOM 30 and it was a sequencer of some type and I just wanted to know if you could send me more info on it if any.
Thanks so much!

Andrew

Slowing CD's at same pitch on a MAC

Does anyone know of mac software that will allow playback of music files or CD's at slower speed without altering pitch?

Re: Slowing CD's at same pitch on a MAC

hey,
Macromedia soundedit 16 has a Timestretch function, use that. Many other programs have a timestretch function ("timebandit" from steinberg(can be used in VST), D-soundpro (I' think), etc...)

You can open these WMA songs in Winamp and use the NullSoft DiskWriter output plugin from the Preferences panel to convert these files to WAV's on the disk...

hope this helps...

No, unfortunately that does not work: the
songs are simply played as if one hadn't
chosen the Disk Writer.
Microsoft does not allow WMA-files to be
copied this way.

CD recording

I recently bought a Philips CD recorder but since I am new to recording on this media I would like to get some advice on how to get my recorded wavefiles onto the CD. I mean to produce a CD with playable tracks just like the professional CD´s. Any suggestions most welcome

ADAT/Edit + Cubase?

I have the ADAT/Edit system installed on my computer. The hardware was much-needed, but so far the software seems rudimentary. I'd like to use Cubase VST, and want to know if anyone is using this combination?

I'm also curious how much compatibility there is between Cubase vst and adat pci card. Basically, I would love to download 8 tracks into Cubase and use the adat to sync up with those 8 tracks and record 8 more tracks into cubase (technically those second 8 tracks would go through a mixer, into the adat, out of the adat optical chord, into the mac, and into 8 separate tracks in cubase (thus making it possible to play back tracks 1-8 and simultaneously record tracks 9-16 in cubase)

does this sound possible? Is there another way?

ADAT/EDIT could you attach me the drivers, Please?

Dear Audrey Muck,

I've bought an Adat Edit too, but I don't received the instalation CD in the pack.
Can you send me the windows drivers, please?

Thanks,
Paulo Elizardo

I've had good luck with my ADAT PCR. I use Cubase,
WaveLab, Cakewalk, and Cool Edit. I have a pair of
"Black Face ADAT's and the ADAT card is just what
the doctor ordered. However I recently purchased a
"ADAT AI3" which has been a total lemon. If I can
answer any questions e-mail me, and if you can
tell me anything about the ADAT "AI3" ? Thanx
