This is because this kind of software technology has been around for decades, and is no longer a mystery to the learned programmer. If your program truly locks up your computer and you can't find any other cause of the problem, then GET RID OF THAT PROGRAM. This piece of shhhhhh! will only cause you repeated headaches. Learn to have little patience with this junk, and you will waste less time. ESPECIALLY WITH so-called "customer service". By the way, if you are on a mac, WATCH OUT FOR EPSON PRINTER DRIVERS!!! They are memory-hogging trouble-starters. If you are on a PC, if you have any way of monitoring what is getting installed or changed on your system (InControl freeware, for example) then you should monitor each install and find out what the heck this Nero does to your system when it installs and/or loads. I have found that programs that add to the system are trouble-makers. Programs that add a lot to the system are socially-accepted VIRUSES which will wreak havoc on your mind and system. This means that anything that triggers the so-called InstallShield is utter crap. InstallShield doesn't actually protect you from anything other than your own safety and stability. If you've ever downloaded some nice simple freeware programs that run as is, without any installation procedure, then you know that IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET SOFTWARE TO WORK WITHOUT "INSTALLING" IT Another tip that you are being hosed is if you ever have to restart after getting some new software. And if the software FORCES you to restart, you are getting into more dangerous issues. Every program that requires a restart is actually bypassing some significant portion of your natural system, or if trying to modify its natural role or form. Watch out people!
