In Reply to: FOR THE LAST TIME...IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! posted by Andy P on August 31, 2001 at 12:38:25: Andy, The reason you feel this is IMPOSSIBLE is because you're only considering analog techniques involving channel mixing, equalization, etc. While there is no commercial product (to my knowledge) available, in theory, it IS possible to separate mixed audio using a technique called deconvolution. With the audio in a digital format, the only limitation is the algorithms involved. It is theoretically possible and there is research underway that will eventually result in a solution to this problem. Don't each your shoe quite yet, but you may want to prepare yourself to eat it down the road.
