DLL files are the bane of my existence.

I haven't yet used Windows XP, but I would guess that Gigasampler might be choking on it. Gigasampler came out while Windows98SE was en vogue, so GIgasampler might run better on Windows98SE, maybe even a patch-fixed Windows95. Still, Gigasampler requires lots of RAM, so it could have to do with your RAM and disk cache and virtual memory settings. Other than those, I would guess that maybe your System files are a wee bit corrupted. Some Virus/Spyware Bots also have a nasty way of implanting themselves in those uberimportant files such as KERNEL32.DLL and RUNDLL.EXE At least XP has a really nice scandisk, I hear. Just make sure that the ScanDisk.INI file is set up correctly. You can view it with a plain text editor such as EDIT.COM or whatever. This could be important because some errors can only be properly fixed by running ScanDisk in pure DOS mode. However, in DOS mode, ScanDisk uses it's .INI file for directions. Unless you manually edit this file, it's settings could very well be wrong. This was an issue back with Windows98SE, so I'm guessing it still applies to your system. Windows 2000 and ME and NT are oranges to these apples, but who knows... were dealing with Micro$oft, the king of bugs and tedious functions. p.s. = I can always know if a Micro$oft program has been installed on my mac, because my system folder is suddenly flooded with shared library files, otherwise knows as dynamically linked libraries (DLL's). Another tell-tale sign is a busload of new system subfolders and strange additions to the Internet settings. Basically, Microsoft IS A VIRUS. Look up the definition of a computer virus, and then think of all those bug-prone, privacy-invading, system-crashing, system flooding, programs you've been dealing with from the big software companies. I can guarantee you, these programs are at least trojan horses or worms, if not full blown, socially-accepted computer viruses. Old macs used to Run on 512K of RAM. Not much is really needed for a program on a computer. Keep this in mind whenever you are downloading a big new nasty commercial file. The best programs in life can fit on a 800K floppy diskette. If you don't believe me, just look in you WINDOWS\COMMAND folder.
