For your PC at home, you should download Exact Audio Copy. I can almost guarantee you that this program will help solve your problems. However, you should also compare the SPECIFICATIONS of the two CD drives. Still, if it's really bothering you, you should learn everything you can about the work computer's configuration and try to duplicate it on yours at home. By the way, if one of the drives is a USB drive, that's likely to make a huge difference in the way it works. USB is generally terrible for audio, but some USB drives compensate by having HUGE built-in hardware RAM buffers. Well, that's an awful lot of chit chat about CD drives. it's really a lot of different factors, though. In the meantime, I'd duplicate your CD while you're at work and burn a new CD there (at 4x speed max) and take it home. DO NOT BURN CD's AT HIGH SPEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Listen and learn. bye.
