Big Mac to Politically Correct

I think you should try to email Steinberg and ask them, since they created Cubase.
It's probably an issue they had to consider while making Cubase.

There are programs made to convert mac format to pc, but
they are typically described as being for TEXT files. However, on a mac, most PC files are naturally saved as PC text files. For any mac users who doubt me, set the mac type/creator codes of a file to "TEXT"/"dosa", and you will notice that it turns into a PC-iconned file.

In general, PC TEXT files have (carriage return followed by a linefeed), whereas mac files typically only have the .
UNIX files have only. I think it goes something like that.
However, there are probably more deviations between formats for ASCII characters above 128, and especially above 255.
I suspect that first, you should try to run Cubase on your PC and use Cubase to search for and open the files on the CD. If they open, then save a new copy on your hard drive. If it doesn't work, there might be too many differences between formats for a simple exchange. The mac format holds MORE information than the PC format, so if conversion is not possible, a copy would stand to LOSE data on the PC.
