Rimmer is right on. My favorite "decent" mic for acoustic guitar is the MXL-1006, or the MXL-2000. Both around 100.USD but definitely more quality then you could expect for the price. I use a Behringer mixer for the phantom power and mic pre, and an SB Live for the sound card. This sort of setup is good for most listener, but pro audio people, could definitely pin point the differences in audio quality, and a casual listener may be able to tell you "it doesn’t sound that good" But for the money it's a decent set up, and It's fun to lay stuff down this way. Gecko : What you consider decent quality is more than likely different to what I would consider decent quality. How can someone assess what might sound 'decent' when all the information you give on your recording chain is "Cheap Mic"? : Get yourself a decent small or large diaphragm condensor mic, something like a FMR RNP, a VTB1 or even an M-Audio Audiobuddy, some decent cables, learn a good acoustic guitar mic'ing technique, get a decent audio card and then you'll have a decent chance. :
