User Manual for BOSS DR-220e drum machine

Help!! Can anyone help me program this thing?!! Or locate an online manual with the correct steps. I've pushed every button but cannot get things to save and playback.

Just want to store a few basic beats for loopback/playback.

It has four pages of a DR-220E manual. I'm not sure there is more. This thing is pretty old (around 20 yrs).
