recording problem SOLOING audio tracks in PT Click Here to Report this message to the Moderator Posted by Bonniejo (from: 207.172.168.27) on August 31, 2003 at 14:42:35: Hello all, I am hoping I can get some insight in solving a problem I am having with my music set up here. It is a recording problem. Basically I have Powertracks version 8 and I am able to record okay with certain settings, which I will describe soon, BUT when I select the SOLO button for an audio track I hear all the other tracks in there also. I can SOLO any of those MIDI tracks and that works fine. I believe that I have some setting or connection hooked up or set incorrectly. I can record in Band In a Box but that has no solo feature and I do not use that for my vocals and harmonies anyway. Also I can record in Cakewalk. I have a windows 98se Dell PC with a 60 GIG hard drive and am using Sound blaster live 16 for my soundcard. I also have a Eurorack MX602A, which is set up to function as described below. Also have a pair of Truth B2031 Monitors but they also are not currently connected. I decided to get it down to the most basic set up and build upJ BUT, now I am lost and so confused. Here is what works with my MX602A set up. My Mx602A is set with the main out L/R going as LINE-IN on the PC. The MIC and HEADPHONES are plugged in the MX602A also. The LINE 5/6 is going out of the MX602A into the PC as MIC IN. The PLAY control settings are set to LINE-IN RECORD control settings are set to LINE-IN. The creative launcher surround MIXER (not sure is this has any part in this or not!) Has settings of LINE-IN checked, category and environmental set to default. So, I can record and play back and SOLO the MIDI tracks in PT with these settings using the MX602A but not SOLO any audio. When I tried to make a SEQ. file, obviously the audio tracks had other recorded tracks mixed in. Both VU meters go on in playback. The PLAY control meter also goes while playing back. ANY help or insight into this is very much appreciated and thanked for in advance.
