Audacity is freeware. It should do what you want. There are also other programs in the multitrack recording section of the site which can be used for trial periods and so forth. Some of them are inexpensive and very good. n-Track is one worth looking at. : I want to lay tracks on my pc of my own music but want to try some freeware first before i buy to see if i want to do it this way. i will need conversion over to mp3/ATRAC3/WAV or something to compress so it could be sent in email on occasion
