Thanks very much for this helpful guide. I got it all working on a very old PC laptop (333 MHz, 128 MByte of RAM) using the exact recipe you gave, except I used Goldwave v5.06. Using the latest AudibleManager4.0 with the Gear CD burning also caused Goldwave to hang when reading in the file. However, on my newer laptop (2.4 GHz, 2 GByte of RAM), I have the latest AudibleManager4.0 with the Roxio CD burner (I have Roxio installed, and it seemed to work better than the Gear for me, which would only burn at 4X on a CD-R whereas Roxio allows me to burn at 20X). On this one, I was able to import the *.aa file no problem into Goldwave, so I don't know if it's using a different codec than the Gear version or not... You can get the Roxio version at: Thanks for taking the time to post your guide! : Here is the link for AudibleManager 3.5. : Be sure to COMPLETELY uninstall AudibleManager before installing a different version. You should first find and save your aa files to another folder. (search files and folders for *.aa) : (I tried 3.6 once without luck, but didn’t exhaustively try it. If you get it to work, I want to know. Here is the link for AudibleManager 3.6.
