Can't record anything

I am running Win95 and have a audiotrix pro sound card. When I go to the Win95 sound recorder I can't record anything. If I play a .wav file it works just fine, but not when I try recording. I have tried two different microphones and I have made sure that the mic is plugged into the "mic" slot. Any other ideas?
