vs-880ex editing

how do you cut and paste on a vs-880ex?I'm trying to paste vocals in different parts of the song

Re: vs-880ex editing

It can be done but I don't remember how. I think it's quite straight forward. You mark the points either side of where you are copying and mark the destination point. It's in the manual... ;)

downloading

how do i speed up the process to download to my computer why does it sometimes go at top speed and other times takes forever

Re: downloading

That can be due to network congestion, traffic on the server you are accessing, your ISP and the time of the day you decided to download. You can get some download accelerator programs that will speed up the process for you. But don't expect miracles.

Reason software ( i know it,s a big question)

i been playing around with Reason for about a year now ,but I still cant figure out how to make a song
i can do everything except ( changing patterns , changing Rdrums , and making the song . if you can make it as easy as possible , i,ll be more than happy

it is easy:
i think you work the wrong way.
ik make music on other instruments or software and i start with a rif in my head, and than i search in a program how to get it in a file.
than i stop and wait untill i have more ideas.
So i start to search and search just untill i have the sound that i like and put it into the first file.
after a while, i have got the music that i want.

when you start with the program without a thing in youtr head, it is inpossible (i think) because on reason there are so manny features that you lose your way.

I am searching for reason? do you know som portals where i can download it from?

Here's what i do:

bring them into Reason
Give each tune a different sound
Add a pattern in redrum
Add a dr rex
Arrange everything

rmj to wav converters

i need to convert some rmj files to wav files...how di i do it?

Re: rmj to wav converters

RMJ is the not-to-be-cracked-or-we-haul-your-ass-to-jail encoded format. That's why you won't find any decoders. But if you want to do some porridge and party with Bubba, you could always try using an audio capture program such as Total Recorder

help me

I would like to know, which according to your opinion,is the future of records
would it be better for someone to buy two record players and collect records or to continue collecting cds and get involved in mixing?I have heard that records will be withdrawn from the market. Is that true.
I waiting your answer and many thanks

Re: help me

I would tend to think that vinyl is safe as a format at this point. Anyway, you can still find thousands of vinyl albums in 2nd hand stores plus artists still do release limited edition vinyl. And we're not touching on the white label editions either ;) I know for a fact that a lot of indie/punk/old school artists like to release their music on vinyl.

But I bet someone out there knows more about this than me.

Hi all,

Re: AKAI S2000 WIndows driver

I just installed xp from 98. I'm trying mesa without reinstalling and im using an adaptec scsi controller. Mesa starts up then it pops up a message saying "SCSI plug is not available" with the option to click on "ok"

I click on ok and then mesa starts without seeing my sampler.

Do I have to reinstall mesa? or update the scsi card driver? (i didnt have to install the scsi card driver again when i installed xp, err at least it didnt ask)

Let me know...i cannot work comfortably with the akai s2000 from the tiny screen! lol (although its funny becuz b4 i herd about mesa i did and i was a pro!).

Re: AKAI S2000 WIndows driver

hey man, just hit cancel when windows asks you to install the driver. there is no driver, never was.
mesa will run and find your sampler. if not, check your SCSI terminators.
write me with any problems:

Re: AKAI S2000 WIndows driver

Do a search for ForceASPI on the web and install it as per the instructions.
You need v4.60 of ASPI.

I have got past this but when I transfer via MESA, the first second or so of the sample if fine but the rest is just noise. Anyone?

Re: AKAI S2000 WIndows driver

Hi.

I got the same problem with my akai s2000 / Mesa. But wehn i hit the button ignore at the installation, mesa says "No SCSI device found". But my SCSI card works perfect. Can you help me?

Re: AKAI S2000 WIndows driver

Hi,

For anyone having problems with xp and an Akai S2000 and MESA I can assure that it does work and very well.
There is no driver needed for the S2000, this will show in device manager under Other Devices as ' AKAI EMI S2000 SAMPLER SCSI Processor Device ' and have a yellow question mark by it.

Firstly enusre that the SCSI card is installed correctly and is working.

This is the way that I got my Adaptec 2906 SCSI card and S2000 working with MESA, Wavelab and Recycle....

XP does not ship with an ASPI layer. So this will need to be downloaded. This can be downloaded for free from http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70&filekey=aspi_471a2.exe
Unzip the file.

Go to START>>>RUN and type in CMD.
This will open up a command prompt DOS box.
Change the path to whereever you unzipped the downloaded file.
Type INSTALL.BAT XP32

While still in the DOS box, type REMANE WOWPOST.EX_ WOWPOST.EXE
Then type RENAME WINASPI.DL_ WINASPI.DLL

Quit the DOS box and go back to the folder that the downloaded file was unzipped to.
You will now see WOWPOST.EXE and WINASPI.DLL
Copy WOWPOST.EXE and WINASPI.DLL to C:\WINDOWS\system

Run ASPICHK.EXE in the unzipped folder and it should now show all 4 files with the version number 4.71.2 installed.

Ensure the S2000 is booted and connected to the PC and reboot the PC.

If all has gone well all s/w that supports the S2000 over SCSI should now work.

If you boot the PC before the S2000 then you may need to go to device manager and scan for hardware changes in order for the S2000 to be picked up by XP.

Hope this helps.

Have fun !!!!

Re: AKAI S2000 WIndows driver

I read an article about windows XP not supporting 16 bit programs. The S2000 OS being one. So I am not sure about that, but it seems logical. I use to use my S2000 on 98 without a driver, but now I can't seem to get it to work on XP. I saw something about a driver for it so I guess it's just about finding it.

Convert a single track of MP3 file to multiple tracks of MP3 fil

Re: Convert a single track of MP3 file to multiple tracks of MP3

I'm struggling to find a way to do exactly this with wav files. There must be software to do it.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Convert a single track of MP3 file to multiple tracks of MP3

I have found a software name Pyro 1.5 produced by Cakewalk software company.
It's on sale @ crazesoftware for $20.00.
The software allows to convert MP3 to WAV files, then using Wave editor to split the track.
Cakwwalk just comes out w/ Pyro 2003, which is a better version to record music fr. Cassette or LP.
Check www.crazesoftware.com or www.cakewalk.com

Re: Convert a single track of MP3 file to multiple tracks of MP3

Both of you should search this site for the following downloads -

CD Wave Editor, LP Ripper, MP3 Surgeon, MP3 TrackMaker, MP3Clip, MP3 Wav Editor, WAVSingulator... and search for the word 'split' too. You'll be surprised what you have missed.

Sorry, I'd rather work on my band's eurodisco reinterpretation of Stairway To Heaven as the first single on our new album. You should see our video clip. We do a song and dance routine around a hedgerow with the second cousin of a bloke who had a beer with Robbie Williams a couple of years ago.

Extract only drums of a song with sound forge or cool edit

Hi,

i dont no if it's possible to extract only the drums part in a wave song.

Example on FFF music ( le yaourt) for playing didjeridoo on the drums part after.

If you have some explication or idea

Thank in advance

Bye

Re: Extract only drums of a song with sound forge or cool edit

Hi,
As many musicians have asked in the past, there is still only one reply - with current technology there is NO way of extracting a single melody from a group, be it drums, voice, pads, bass, etc., etc..
Maybe in a few years when the timbre (what software was used to make a particular drum kick, bass pull) can be associated with your music wav, can this be done.

Forget it...

Fiddle as much as you want but you will find that it's dead hard to do and probably impossible to do it to a satisfactory level.
