Hi With cool edit pro, use WinGroove plug for your midi backing (silence the vocal track). In cool edit add bass if needed and a reverb as required by the type of song, WinGroove (which is free does the rest) For your vocals, you need only a medium quality one. I use a $200 mic and it works fine. After recording I: - Add bass I have a set of $400 head phones and after mixing listen on a cheap sound card, then I get the right mix Listen to some originals to get the feel for your equiptment. -Cec
