: When I play wav. files (especially when I put a filter on it) I get lots of static and hissing in the background. I have an Awe 64 sound card. Is there some modification I must make with it or is it just a cheap card?
: Assistance is Appreciated

Yes, Itīs a cheap card. You donīt get full duplex (listning and recording at the same time) whith 16 bits, only 16 + 8 bits audio. 8 bits audio sounds BAD ! If you want a cheap but working soundcard try Soundblaster 64 PCI itīs actually the Ensoniq Audio PCI card that Creative now produce.
