djx cubasis

sometimes after using my djx and cubasis for 1-2 hrs a delay of about one second develops between hitting a key on the keyboard and the sound being made. This is usually followed by the system being unable to transmit midi data from the djx to cubasis.Can anybody tell me why, and how I can stop this from happening. thanks.paul.
