CDR80 and Easy CD Creator on HP CD writer 7200i

Would realy appeciate if somebody could tell me how to make "Easy Cd Creator" recognise CDR80 format. It keeps telling me it's CDR74 and to shorten my layout (allso in the copy function). The HP help desk tells me its not possible, neighter with their 7200i nor with Adaptec's Easy CD Creator; while everybody else is telling me it should be perfectly possible, but without being able to give the practical guide lines.
