Need a music software program to provide me with accompaniment when I practive.

I want the music software to provide me with a rhythm section (piano, bass and drums) accompaniment. I'll enter the chords through the user interface. I have a PC and a sound card. Don't know much about MIDI. Do I need any additional hardware.
