Some songs are louder than others on a burned cd...

I converted some mps to wav with Winamp,but when I burned it and listen to it some songs are loud and some are soft.
What can I do to the wav files before I burn them so there all even.
I need some good tips,I've burned a few with all the top software and they all pretty much sound like shit.
