As long as your keyboard is capable of sending
MIDI data, it is possible to trigger your soundcard's notes.
Of course, you will play the internal sounds of your
JX-8P at the same time - to avoid that, set the synth to
LOCAL OFF. Should be explained in the manual how to do
that - this function disconnects the keys from the
sound producing unit within the instrument, but MIDI
data will still be generated and sent through MIDI OUT.
(Hint: if you use a mixing console, it's sometimes faster
and more obvious just to mute the synth's channel...)
You won't have to deal with internal functions and
you can SEE on the console which channels are active/non-active...)
