Exterman Midi that works with Linux ??????

I am going to switch from using a PC for sequence backup on stage to my laptop, (were a small band so we sequence drums and bass) and though I have a good program for Windows 98, I would like the flexability of beaing able to use Linux to do the same thing. I am looking at the MIDISport from Midiman a 2in x 2out USB box. They also have standard serial and parallel boxs available.
Anyone who has info on this I would greatly appreciate it.
