Softsynth to VST in realtime?

How do I record audio from my softsynths (Reality, VAZ, probe etc) in realtime without having to save as audiofile in the synth and then import to VST?
I tried "virtual audiocable" but couldīt get it working properly. Actually it didnīt work at all.
