Cubase and QS8. HELP!!!

Does any one know why I would not be able to get the sound from the OMS patch after I have closed the song. If I select a sound from the OMS patch it plays and records fine. However, when I close the song and then go back to the song, the OMS patch box shows the sound I have selected, but plays something different, even on the recorded parts. I have the keyboard set on mutlitimbral. I have talked to a lot of people and can;t seem to get anyone who can figure out why the patch is not holding the sound. PLEASE HELP!!
