Cubase 3.6 VST and MIDI

Hi, I've recently purchased Cubase VST, and would like to sync my Roland MC505 via midi to my PC.
I have a SoundBlaster Live soundcard, and appropriate cable etc. I would just like some advice on software setup regarding this.
Any help would be appriciated.
