Car cd players do not seem to have as great a sampling rate as their home counterparts. Here is what I did to aleve this problem: First, buy a quality cd-r that is at least 8X writable and write it at 1X. If that works fine in your car, try it at 2X and so on. So far, this has worked for me (I haven't had any problem with 8X Imation cd-r's done this way).
