Music Notation Software Desperado!

Posted by Marco Colombo on Fri, 02/18/00 - 23:08:03.

Hi all! It seems so unbelievable that one can't find a
music notation software capable of writing a few bars
and exporting them into a normal word processor, i.e.
Microsoft Word! I wonder how the music theory manuals
have been written so far! All I'm asking is to find a
software that allows the user to copy few measures and paste them
into Word 97. I've already checked at SMM - Music Notation Software Category -
but I didn't find anything! Please, HELP!!!

There is a program by the name of "Copyist 5.0
for Windows." Look it up. Its producers claim
it is made to meet EXACTLY the needs you
expressed.

Why not use any notation software and do a screen dump to the clipbooard.
Then paste into Word.

I think that current versions of Finale, Opus & Sibelius
all allow you to save segments of notated music to
a graphic file, which you can then use as a graphic
within Word (or any word processing program).

This looks like a feature that has become more available
over the past few years.
