In Reply to: Re: how do you convert a mp3 file to a wav. file? posted by Jan on February 29, 2000 at 01:29:31: I have tried this but unfortunately what Winamp did for me was just add an extension of.wav. I.E., I started with XXX.mp3 and Winamp made it a XXX.mp3.wav. I then tried to burn the file to a cd but was unsuccesful b/c the program, in fact every burning program I installed could not recognize the file as a designated .wav file. Does anyone know how to change it to a burnable .wav file. I used Streambox untill they took the capability away. I need to start form a RealAudio file and end up w/ a .wav I can burn for the road. : : to whom can answer this question, : : I have a hp cd writer plus, and can't seem to burn my mp3 files on to a blank disc. I have heard that there are software applications that can help but i dont know how to find any. so if you have any good thoughts or software for me to look at please write back. : You can use Winamp to convert mp3 files to WAV files this way:
