After various trouble-shooting steps, I've come to the following problem: Even though I can hear the LP fine through the PC speakers, it doesn't seem to record ... or at a VERY LOW level. How come? I tried Adaptec's Spin Doctor and LP Recorder (shareware). It seems to record just fine, but when I stick the CD in a CD player OR when I try to listen to a WAV file on the PC ... nothing. (If you turn the volume up on the CD player you can barely hear it.) So, as you see, it's not the CD Recorder (HP External USB) and it's not the disks. What is it!!!??? Thanks very much. mhorowitz1@cox.rr.com
