Thanks again. sounds like a memory problem to me. i would try to find out exactly how much memory your audio programs get... for sure they aren't getting 256MB also, some of the noise could be the physics of your tape player and/or the the tape. tapes are really painful to use. i would buy a used minidisc recorder for 50 to 150 bucks, then you can do minor editing, some higher quality recordings too. you can buy blank minidiscs anywhere in japan, or at Best Buy in the us. you can also order them dirt cheap from Tape World or some other company that places ads in the back of any decent music recording magazine.
