download 'sequencer.dll' `

when i start cakewalk pro audio 8, the file sequencer.dll is shown as missing. then i search for ths file in my computer it is not there. it might have somehow been deleted.
i was wondering if i would download it from the net. if so, please guid me.

Re: Cakewalk DLL error

My Cakewalk Pro 7 stopped working recently; it simply would not launch, with no error message. So I installed the CWPA 9 demo and the Sonar demo to help diagnose the problem. Both applications abend wiht the error "Unknown Error in Sequencer DLL". I've uninstalled, purged the registry and ini files and re-installed the SW, but still get the same result.

My best guess about the cause at this point is a shared-DLL conflict (A DLL in the windows directory that is used by multiple applications, possibly replaced with an older version by some other software that I recently installed). I suspect that the shared "sequencer" DLL isn't removed during un-install, or updated during re-install. I'm currently working with CW tech support to try to resolve this; hopefully they can identify which DLL is the "sequencer DLL" which I will then manually delete. Then a re-install of CWPro 7 should put the correct version in the windows dir.

Have you installed any other applications that utilize MIDI recently, such as Cubase VST or ACID Pro 3 or ULEAD video/Media studio?

Re: Cakewalk DLL error

My Cakewalk Pro Audio 8 has crashed recently. After rebooting it showed the same (no) symptoms and just didnĀ“t start. After uninstalling and installing it over again after the third try I got the message "Unknown Error in Sequencer DLL".

I also think the problem is a shared dll, which cwpa left damaged after crashing.

I guess it is a little late to ask for results from the tech-support ... ?

I think it might be to do with the msimg32.dll - that was the only dll I installed. Just thought this might help you guys track the problem down.

Re: Cakewalk DLL error

I'm having this same problem. Downloaded msimg32.dll as Justin suggested but unfortunately it didn't help.
