In Reply to: Convert MIDI file to MP3 format posted by bill braun on March 23, 2001 at 20:52:47: : I need help on converting MIDI files to an MP3 format. Also want to convert Quicktime file to MP3 format. What programs do I need to use? Are there any step by step instructions to assit one thru the process. There's no easy way to go from midi -> mp3. And even if there were, it'd sound so horrible that no one would listen to your mp3. Record the midi file on your computer as an AIFF while it plays. If your sound card's mixer won't let you do this, you may be SOL. If you have a keyboard such that you could play the midi on your keyboard and record the audio as direct sound in, this would work nicely (just watch for distortion). Then once you have the AIFF file, use an app such as AudioCatalyst to convert it to mp3. Follow Ups: Post a Followup
