Re: removing background noise from vocals

sAME AS A GATE. USES A THRESHOLD TO SILENCE NOISE BELOW THE THRESHOLD AMPLITUDE.

Also....

If the background noise is only a problem when the singer isn't singing (you can hear the headphone mix over the mix) then you could 'gate' the track. When setup properly, a noise gate will switch a channel off when it goes below the user defined level. If this is the case, then when the vocal isn't running, it will switch off the track so the headphone mix wont bleed... Look for noise gates as plugins. If you use a sequencer with Fx, then a noise gate will be one of them.

Just an idea..

Re:

The only known solution to humanity is to interfere with the entire equalization of the vocal track, scan for specific frequencies to reject & seek ways in order not to diminish the vocal quality. The best way to do it is manually (no plug-in can guarantee what you hear).

If you can't afford a vocal booth, try ply-wood sheets to isolate mic from headphones & dump the background tracks (EQ) and you'll have minimal mid & high frequencies interaction when you remove the noise.
