Besides the obvious of not having my mic near my computer, which isn't an option when you're recording directly to sound forge through the sound card, how do I not pick up the sound of the computer running through the mike. There's a constant hum beneath all my interviews which I assume is the computer fan but not altogether sure. When I edit it out it affects the quality of the the sound and speech creating a slurring. I can't seem to just edit out the hum without reducing sound quality so I'm trying to go at it by not picking up the noise to start with. Also could an external mixer be the cause of the hum and if so is this just a matter of a ground? Any help would be appreciated this is frustrating. Follow Ups:
