The reason for that is, I have usually used the program installation offering of changing the MIME settings for you. I think if you go into your browsers "preferences" and then to "applications", you can see a list of MIME types (the header that is sent when you request a file download etc so the computer knows what application to use) and the applications that are used for those types. If you can identify what boots Windows player (it should be listed on the application name and will be more than one) then you might be able to double click on it and then change it to the application you want to use, Macamp. Whether mac amp can deal with a particular stream that is meant for WMP or not I don't know. If you change this MIME setting, you can always change it back with no adverse affects. Try changing them and go and stream a WMP file and see what the browser boots up. Macamp's preferences have a tick box called "Guard MIME types" which may make it hog the browsers choice when streaming and this could be a good thing. Experiment, that's all I can give you other than try and obtain the URL that the streams coming from and put that URL into MacAmp, (in the file menu) and see what happens. Recording any length with an unregistered version of macamp is going to cheese you off as it's limited. It's worth the $15 registration fee so if you have it, get it over and done with and buy it. The amount of material you can record from the radio makes it worth while in no time at all.
