In Reply to: get a external device (breakout box) posted by stephan on July 31, 2001 at 12:12:41: this won't help if a bad mic is the problem! have u tried turning off yer vdu when recording? cut out the mixer and you'll soon know if that's at fault. jon : get a delta 44 or someting similar in motu or solo these device convert you analog signal via a breakout box since the signal is converted outside the computer it doesnt pic up static or oher electrical sound generated by the internal converter located on the soundcard sitting in the computer. a device like this one can cost between 250 us up to 1500 and more. Get someting basic with few inputs and you ll be happy : have a good time
