In Reply to: connecting a midi keyboard to a PC posted by diane on August 30, 2001 at 19:11:50: hello Diane, yes a SB LIve! card will work perfectly for what u want to do. Many pro musicians use the Live! card it is very well suited to PC music making. Not only can u plug in midi keyboard via it's game port it also comes with a built in synth with an excellent GM Midi soundset + will have superior audio quality compared to your present card. There are also high quality internal FX on the SB Live! An external box may plug into a USB port or perhaps the parallel printer port. But for the price a new PCI SB with it's sounds + high quality audio is the way to go. Good luck!
