soundforge recording problems!

I am lookin to record a mix cd....To do this I need to record an audio file, using soundforge, so I can then convert this to mp3 and then write onto cd.
However....I am currently unable to get a recording level through soundforge I have connected my decks to my computer (aux out - line in) and my computer to my hi fi (line out - aux in). If anyone has any ideas plz plz plz contact me, I will be v.grateful...cheers!
