In Reply to: sound card input won't work posted by bill on October 30, 2001 at 14:10:34: First, check that the line in isn't muted. Second, and more important, are you trying to connect the record deck direct to the sound card? If so, then it's unlikely you'll get anything anyway, since the output from the record deck isn't high enought, and the tonal balance will be wrong. Unless the record deck has a built-in RIAA pre-amp, you'll need to connect the deck to an amplifier and feed the output from that (either the tape out or the headphone out) to the soundcard. Just remember to keep the volume low when you start. Andy
