In Reply to: Outputtng Music File to Actual Notes posted by Gina on October 30, 2001 at 19:56:14: : I play the tenor sax and am interested in capturing the actual notes that are being played in certain pieces of music (e.g., music file to sheet music). Does anybody know of a software package out there that is capable of doing this? Please e-mail me at GMTemple@aol.com if you know of a package that is capable of this. Thanks! Hey Gina: You could achieve your purpose by getting a midi sequencer with notation capabilities. Then you find the piece of music you want on the net as a midi file and convert the sax part to notation. There's a lot of programs that can do this from very little to a lot of money, wish I could be more specific but there's so much out there. It's a little a hard to get into PC recording but with a little perseverance the benefits to ANY musician are astounding. There's also a program called Transcribe which helps you manually convert to notation. Later
