In Reply to: Midi to external mixer!!! posted by tan leo on November 29, 2001 at 20:26:01: What are the midi tracks?? Are they audio?? If it's only a midi track then the instrument that the Midi information is playing needs to be routed to a audio card that can handle 24 audio outputs. The program itself should be able to route audio to seperate outputs on the audio card. What one do you have? To be honest, this isn't possible in one unit at present (unless I am missing something...) but it could be done with more than one audio interface using either Analogue outputs or ADAT to a ADAT equipped mixer. ADAT is a digital optical link that is compatible with some external recording devices and ADA euqipped mixers. It carries 8 channels at a time so you would need a desk that can handle 3 ADAT inputs. I don't know if you can buy something like that. The amount of money you will spend on trying to get 24 simultaneous audio outputs from your computer is quite massive. Consider Terratec or MOTU as they offer some solutions but be prepared with a massive wallet...!
